It’s no secret that the iconic RAM 1500 pickup truck is getting a hefty mid-generation refresh for the 2025 model year. Originally known as the Dodge Ram, the RAM 1500 has been around in one form or another since it was introduced back in 1981. Now firmly in its fifth generation, we cannot wait to see what the exciting 2025 RAM 1500 model lineup has in store for us here in Topeka, Kansas. With a mid-generation refresh comes plenty of design enhancements and other updates, but perhaps even more exciting than that is the introduction of the Ramcharger and REV electrified variants. The REV will be the first all-electric BEV version of the RAM pickup truck, while the Ramcharger will actually be the first plug-in hybrid half-ton pickup truck on the North American market, period.

Additional updates include a new infotainment screen, a new high-torque rear axle, plenty of updated design cues and, of course, the new top-of-the-line Tungsten trim level.

The Ramcharger promises to deliver the best of both worlds, combining a 3.6L V6 engine with a liquid-cooled 92 kWh battery pack and a pair of electric drive modules, 250-kW in the front and 238-kW in back. Altogether, the Ramcharger will be capable of generating 663 hp, 615 lb-ft. of torque, and accelerating from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

It will be powered by either a 168-kWh battery pack with an estimated range of 350 miles, or a 229-kWh battery pack targeting all the way up to 500 miles of range. Regardless, the battery pack will be tethered to a pair of 250-kW electric drive modules, one on each axle, with an estimated output of 654 hp and 620 lb-ft. of torque.
