Dodge will now offer a new layer of security to the Charger and the Challenger. This new security system will require owners to enter a four-digit code after starting the car, and if they don’t enter the code correctly the car won’t go any faster than idle speed, which is equivalent to the vehicle only using three horsepower.
“More than 150 cars are stolen every day in the United States,” Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Dodge, said in a statement. “Though statistically rare, car thieves have targeted the high-horsepower Dodge muscle cars.” It’s great that Dodge is implementing more features to keep your muscle car safe.
Any Charger or Challenger from 2015 ‘til now, with either the 6.4-liter 392 Hemi V-8 or the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, can get this security update for free. This update won’t come out until the second quarter of next year, and will be done at Dodge dealers, so whenever this update is ready you can bring your Charger or Challenger in to Briggs Dodge Ram and we’ll take care of it for you.

The Commemorative Edition will be available in three different trim levels, those being the R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and the R/T Scat Pack Widebody. There is an element of flair that is added to the Commemorative Edition. You’ll find a hand-painted black hood, black-wrapped roof and decklid, and headlamps with LED-illuminated “50” logos. Unique badges are also included on the grille and the spoiler, which are given the name “Gold School” for their gold finish. Black lettering reading “Fuel” is fitted on the fuel-filler door, and the taillamps receive black “Dodge” badges. To wrap up the Commemorative Edition’s look the Challenger is fitted with 23 inch gold wheels.
There are a multitude of unique and great looking colors for the Commemorative Edition. Dodge is introducing a new Smoke Show paint color which you can apply on the upcoming Challenger and Charger, and can also be applied to the Commemorative Edition.
