2019 Dodge Challenger

New Security System for Charger & Challenger

Dodge will now offer a new layer of security to the Charger and the Challenger. This new security system will require owners to enter a four-digit code after starting the car, and if they don’t enter the code correctly the car won’t go any faster than idle speed, which is equivalent to the vehicle only using three horsepower.

“More than 150 cars are stolen every day in the United States,” Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Dodge, said in a statement. “Though statistically rare, car thieves have targeted the high-horsepower Dodge muscle cars.” It’s great that Dodge is implementing more features to keep your muscle car safe.

Any Charger or Challenger from 2015 ‘til now, with either the 6.4-liter 392 Hemi V-8 or the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, can get this security update for free. This update won’t come out until the second quarter of next year, and will be done at Dodge dealers, so whenever this update is ready you can bring your Charger or Challenger in to Briggs Dodge Ram and we’ll take care of it for you.

Charger Gold Rush Option

Charger Adds “Gold Rush” Paint Option

Last year Dodge showed off the Gold Rush paint job for the Challenger lineup. It was initially created for the 50th anniversary Challenger special edition, but Dodge eventually decided to expand the paint option to any Challenger. Now Dodge has decided that the Charger deserved the gold paint job as well, giving buyers the option to go gold in 2021.

The decision to add Gold Rush to the Charger’s color palette was inspired by a higher demand for Gold Rush Challengers than Dodge initially expected. The paint will be available on Dodge Charger R/T, Scat Pack, Scat Pack Widebody, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye models. If you get the gold color your Charger will have a satin-black roof, black rear decklid, and black hood, which in our opinion looks great with the gold.

Gold Rush will be available for the Charger this Spring, so orders start soon. If you aren’t able to get your hands on Gold Rush for Charger or Challenger there are still many other colorways that are fantastic looking. Some of these paintjobs include Frostbite, Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick, TorRed, and F8 Green. Check out our inventory of Dodge Chargers, we have many to choose from. If you want to give the Charger or any other Dodge vehicle a test drive then come on down to Briggs Dodge Ram. We’d love to get you set up in the vehicle of your choice.
