IIHS Top Safety Pick: 2021 Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 once again has proved why it’s the best truck on the market, earning a “Top Safety Pick” from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). This award is given to vehicles that prove that they are dedicated to reducing motor accidents and improving the safety of motor vehicle collisions. The 1500 is the first pickup to win back-to-back IIHS Top Safety Pick awards, proving that Ram has been dedicated to providing us with top quality safety.

Ram’s Brand Chief Executive Officer, Mike Koval Jr. iterated how important safety is to the brand, saying, “A Top Safety Pick for the Ram 1500 solidifies our long-standing commitment to our customers through advanced technology and engineering expertise … this validation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety builds consumer confidence in our trucks and in the Ram brand.”

The 1500 earned this award because of their sensor-fusion automatic emergency braking system. This system combines cameras with radar sensors to determine potentially hazardous frontal impacts. If there is no response from the driver after several alerts the system will automatically engage the truck’s brakes to avoid or mitigate the impact.

If you’re interested in a pickup that is best in class and will keep you safe, look no further than the Ram 1500. If you want to test drive the 1500, or if you have any other questions, come on down to Briggs Dodge Ram. We’d love to help you out and make sure you leave the lot satisfied.

2021 Ram 1500 Multi-function Tailgate Features

We previously discussed why the Ram 1500 is the best truck on the market right now, whether it’s the 1500’s incredible towing capacity, impressive safety ratings, or its comfortable interior. Today though we’re going to show you another reason why you should consider going for the 2021 Ram 1500.

That reason is the multifunction tailgate. This may not sound like much, but Ram designed this with the thought of making everything you use a pickup truck for easier. The ease of access to the bed of your truck is greatly improved with the 60/40 split swing-away doors, giving you more ease of access than a traditional tailgate when using the bed of your truck. Whenever you use your 1500 to tow you want to be able to get to the bed of your truck easily. Where traditional tailgates are restricted by trailers, Ram’s multifunction tailgate is not, making your life that much easier.

The multifunction tailgate will function like a traditional tailgate when that’s what the job calls for as well, giving you options that other trucks can’t provide. The bed of the 1500 supports up to 2,000 pounds, meaning you can fit pretty much anything you desire. Class exclusive Rambox cargo management system is featured, offering you versatile, weatherproof, lockable, illuminated drainable storage bins on each side of the bed, as well as a 115-volt auxiliary outlet, giving you more accessibility.

Functionality and ease of access were clearly at the top of the list when it came to designing the tailgate and bed of the 1500. If you want a truck that has carefully put in though to every aspect of its design then look no further than the 2021 Ram 1500.
