Pickup trucks are incredibly convenient for a number of reasons. Not only do they get you from point A to point B, but they’re capable of hauling a ton of stuff between those two locations as well. If you need to cart around a bunch of large cargo, or perhaps even tow something in or on a trailer, you’d be hard pressed to find a better option than a pickup truck. For those of you who need even more power and capabilities than a traditional full-size, light-duty pickup truck like the RAM 1500, perhaps a heavy-duty upgrade to a truck like the 2024 RAM 2500 will be a good fit for you. We have the 2500 available right here at Briggs Dodge RAM in Topeka, Kansas, so be sure to check it out for yourself.
There are two powertrains available in the RAM 2500 this year. The standard option is a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine capable of generating up to 410 horsepower alongside 429 pound-feet of torque. There is, however, an available option that presents something different from most heavy-duty pickups. A 6.7L Cummins turbo-diesel I6 generates 370 hp and 850 lb-ft. of torque without compromising fuel efficiency.
Both options are incredibly capable, but they each have their respective strong suits. The standard engine is capable of hauling up to an impressive 4,000 pounds even in its truck bed while also towing 17,730 lbs. in a trailer. The turbo-diesel engine drops its max payload a bit down to 3,150 lbs. but increases its maximum towing capacity to 19,990 lbs. Both engines certainly have their advantages, so it comes down to preference.
Regardless of which powertrain you choose, your 2024 RAM 2500 will be packed full of great technological features. Heavy-duty pickup drivers deserve convenience in their vehicles just as much as the rest of us, which is precisely why the advanced 12” Driver Information Digital Cluster Display is available in the vehicle, alongside an available 12” infotainment system. These are just two of the numerous options available.
If you’re looking for the convenience a pickup truck brings but need more capabilities than the traditional RAM 1500 has to offer, you should definitely consider a 2024 RAM 2500 of your own.
