Consistently one of the best-selling and most popular vehicles year after year, the RAM 1500 has been one of the big three in the full-size, light-duty pickup truck space for generations. Stylish, rugged, capable, powerful, and many other words truck enthusiasts look for are all great descriptors for the truck, and that’s one thing that doesn’t change for the 2023 model year. There are plenty of other changes though, as the truck gets several upgrades and enhancements for the 2023 model year before it arrives here in Topeka, Kansas. We cannot wait to get our hands on this new pickup, but until then we’ll have to hang onto the information below which details many of the exciting things about the 2023 RAM 1500.
One of the most exciting new things for the 2023 RAM 1500 is a 12” frameless digital gauge cluster which features five different customizable areas which you can set to show the information you want and need from close to two dozen different menus. Every trim level now comes equipped with Rear-seat Reminder Alert and an LED hitch lamp in the tailgate handle, whil models with the 12” Unconnect 5 now include Emergency Vehicle Alert System. A new set of 22” all-terrain tires come on the Off-Road Group available on certain trims, while Selec-Speed Control is now standard on the Rebel and a part of some available packages.
In addition to the new features listed above, there are two new trim levels available for the 2023 model year. Limited Elite Edition is a brand-new trim that features a ton of premium content, while the (RAM)RED Edition is a returning trim level available on the Limited Crew Cab models with several unique features. All available RAM 1500 configurations include Quad Cab 6’4” bed, Crew Cab 5’7” bed and Crew Cab 6’4” bed. Other available trim levels include Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, Big Horn, Lone Star, Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, Limited and TRX. There are nine monotone exterior paints and a pair of tu-tone options.
Finally, we thought we’d just touch on the different powertrain options available in the RAM 1500 lineup this year, as there are four options in total to create the fastest, most powerful and most fuel-efficient collection of engines ever available in the truck. A 3.6L eTorque Pentastar V6 generates 305 horsepower alongside 269 pound-feet of torque. A 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 delivers 260 hp and 480 lb-ft. of torque. A 5.7L eTorque HEMI V8 mild-hybrid features variable-valve timing and is capable of getting up to 395 hp and 410 lb-ft. of torque. Finally, TRX models feature a supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 with up to 702 hp and 650 lb-ft. of torque.
